My name is Sally Buck. I’m a master’s-level intern pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trevecca Nazarene University.
I was born in Nashville but didn’t commit to life here until my own recovery journey started. In 2023, I was introduced to Chip Dodd’s eight feelings and my life began to radically change. Being able to name, understand, and communicate my feelings allowed me to connect with myself, others, and my higher power in a way that had always felt inaccessible to me. I started to realize that my life had never felt like my own because I had been cut off from my own heart.
Participating in and facilitating women’s recovery groups grew me as a person but it also grew my desire to learn and do more. As a counselor, my hope is to blend the humility of my story with the knowledge of my education.

What I Hear About Myself:
Those I have led in recovery spaces have pointed out my sense of humor and vulnerability. This can be difficult work - laughter (when appropriate) and a common understanding of the gravity of these conversations go a long way. I want to be a safe space to land for you. Because of my own story, I will never ask a client to walk down a road or carry a weight that I have not been willing to explore in my own heart first.
