Codependency Workshop

For Clinicians
(5 CEs available)

Join Colton Shannon, Ph.D. & Jenay Kennedy for a one day workshop to explore your patterns in relationships.

Do you want to feel courageous and calm in your relationships? Do you want to explore how to struggle well with those you care about?

Codependency is a word used when we struggle to have our own sense of self while in relationship with others. The word can be thrown around as a weapon or a simplistic label, but this workshop invites you to consider your codependency patterns from a deeper and more nuanced perspective. Join us for a one day workshop to explore how to have freedom for yourself so you can give more fully to those you love.

***Please note that this event will be for your own personal development so the focus will be on your life, not your client’s lives. We believe that you are the instrument of change for your clients, so if you are developing as a whole person you will more naturally help your clients. Please do not attend this workshop if you do not want to engage your own story.***

This workshop is for you if:

  • You have close relationships with those who struggle with addiction, personality disorders, mental health disorders, or you are a caregiver (to the young or old).

  • You have addiction recovery but want to work on emotional sobriety within your relationships.

  • You always feel that you are either too small or too big in relationships, especially with people that matter most to you.

  • You grew up in a dysfunctional family and weren’t able to say what you feel and need within the family system.

  • You enjoy getting high quality content along with hearing other people’s perspectives in the room.

  • You struggle with overworking and overpromising in your work environment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will identify codependency patterns in themselves and others by engaging in discussion and taking individual assessments.

  • Participants will interpret characteristics of codependency and control in a non-judgmental stance environment.

  • Participants will evaluate the source of codependency through teaching on dysfunctional family systems.

  • Participants will distinguish “The Eight Feelings” as coined by Chip Dodd, Ph.D. within the Spiritual Root System philosophy, and examine their role in codependency.

  • Participants will apply principles of healthy relational boundaries to real-life scenarios in order to reduce codependent behaviors.

Continuing Education Credit Available: 5 NBCC hours.

To receive credit, participants must sign in, be present throughout, and complete assessment and evaluation at the end of the training. Designated breaks do not count towards CE credits.
