Join Dr. Chip Dodd and Dr. Colton Shannon at the Voice of the Heart Center for a three hour training (3 CEs available for clinicians who attend in person).

*This is an event for clinicians and any professional helper (pastors, physicians, lawyers, educators, etc.)*

This workshop focuses on addiction, depression, and anxiety impairments that are prompted by developmental injuries. We use The Paradigm of Recovery to understand the impairments.

We believe that identifying and processing feelings advances the

healing process. Dodd’s Paradigm of Recovery is a tool to give

clarity and direction in your counseling work and in leadership

helping arenas. Through the last three decades, The Paradigm of

Recovery has been utilized in various treatment centers, private

practices, leadership training courses, in parenting cohorts, church

groups, and many other settings.

The Paradigm is an easily understandable structure that allows therapist and client, as well as leader and participant, to understand the process of change and how to deal with the struggles of life.

In this training you will discover the core principles of Dr. Dodd’s transformative Spiritual Root System and how it can deepen your clinical practice, no matter what modalities you use. You’ll gain practical interventions to help people reconnect with the core feelings, needs, desire, longings, and hopes. Explore the powerful concepts of powerlessness, sensuality, preoccupation, rituals, and despair as signs of addiction in a person. Additionally, dive into three groundbreaking studies that underscore the vital role of emotional connection in effective counseling for the symptoms of addiction, depression, and anxiety.

This event will be live streamed and made available to those who cannot attend in-person. Continuing education credit will not be available to those who watch online. Online attendees will not be vocally participating in the event. It will be a viewing only video.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will examine the addiction cycle and how it promises to help a person live fully without having to feel the pain of full life.

  • Participants will examine Euphoria River as a visual metaphor to teach others about how to live within the “terms of life”.

  • Participants will reflect on memories of anxiety, depression, or addiction through short times of journaling and movie clips.

Continuing Education Credit Available: 3 NBCC hours.

To receive credit, participants must sign in, be present throughout, and complete assessment and evaluation at the end of the training. Designated breaks do not count towards CE credits. The Voice of the Heart Center has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7658. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Voice of the Heart Center is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
