Join Dr. Chip Dodd and Dr. Colton Shannon at the Voice of the Heart Center for a three hour training (3 CEs available for clinicians who attend in person).

*This is an in-person and online event for clinicians and any professional helper (pastors, physicians, lawyers, educators, etc.)*

We believe that identifying and processing feelings is essential to the healing journey.
Chip Dodd’s Paradigm of Recovery offers a clear, time-tested framework for doing emotional work well—bringing clarity to the recovery process, strength for staying vibrant in leadership, and insight into what it means to truly connect with others.

For over 30 years, this paradigm has shaped lives and communities across a wide range of settings: treatment centers, private practices, leadership trainings, parenting groups, church communities, and more.

After introducing the structure of “The Paradigm,” we will focus on how codependency and toxic shame stop the development of a full, healthy life.

In this training, you’ll be introduced to the core principles of Dr. Chip Dodd’s transformative Spiritual Root System® and how it can enrich your work as a helper in any setting. You’ll gain practical tools to guide others back to their core feelings, needs, desires, longings, and hopes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will examine the toxic shame cycle, adapted from John Bradshaw.

  • Participants will identify the 14 traits of a codependency in a person.

  • Participants will reflect on how toxic shame and codependency have hindered personal and professional relationships through brief meditations, journaling, and short movie clips.

This event will be live streamed and made available to those who cannot attend in-person. Continuing education credit will not be available to those who watch online. Online attendees will not be vocally participating in the event. It will be a viewing only video.

Continuing Education Credit Available: 3 NBCC hours.

To receive credit, participants must sign in, be present throughout, and complete assessment and evaluation at the end of the training. Designated breaks do not count towards CE credits. The Voice of the Heart Center has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7658. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Voice of the Heart Center is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
