Men’s Group Dynamics
For Voice of the Heart Center Clinicians
(4.5 CEs available)
Join Chip Dodd in a 4 workshop series about group dynamics.
Course Content:
This course explores the intersection of clinical processing and organizational leadership through the lens of emotional authenticity. Participants will engage in "feelings work" to identify and express the core emotions, such as hurt, lonely, and fear, that often drive professional behavior and stress. By bridging the gap between the "head and the heart," staff members will learn to move beyond defensive leadership styles toward a model of "response-ability" and vulnerability. This training provides a safe clinical environment for staff to process personal and professional experiences, ultimately fostering a culture of resilience, deep relational connection, and spiritual vitality within the workplace.

Learning Objectives:
Participants will demonstrate the ability to use self-awareness as a tool for clinical and professional growth, identifying how the internal connection between "head and heart" influences their capacity to lead and relate to others authentically.
Participants will identify the difference between defensive ego-reactions and emotional vulnerability, applying strategies to move from isolation or "addictive repetition" toward healthy dependency on God and collaborative relationships with colleagues.
Participants will distinguish between the eight core feelings (Glad, Sad, Mad, Fear, Hurt, Lonely, Shame, and Guilt) and evaluate how acknowledging these emotions prevents professional burnout and "emotional enslavement" in a high-stress work environment.
Participants will develop skills to move from "defending the self" to "becoming the self," applying techniques to foster spiritual and emotional genuineness in professional interactions, conflict resolution, and peer-to-peer accountability.
Participants will analyze the "addiction repetition" of the ego versus the "ocean journey" of recovery-based leadership, demonstrating how to lead from a place of healthy dependency and "clear reality" rather than denial or isolation.
